Psychometric evidence

Measurement you can defend

Every RitePath examination is built and analysed with the methods examination boards rely on, so each pass–fail decision rests on evidence, not assumption.

Blueprinting. Every form is checked against its blueprint, so each examination samples the curriculum in the agreed proportions.

Targeting. Item difficulties are placed on the same scale as candidate ability, showing that the test measures well across the range that matters.

Test information and standard errorTest information peaks near the cut score, where the standard error of measurement is lowest, so pass–fail decisions are made where the test is most precise.CUT SCORE−3−2−10123Test informationStandard error (SEM)Ability (θ)

Precision. Information is concentrated around the cut score, where measurement error is lowest and decisions are most consequential.

Why RitePath

Built for high-stakes medical examinations

Security by design

Role-based access keeps authoring, review and scoring keys away from candidates. Examinees never see the item bank, review discussions, scoring keys, psychometric data or unpublished content.

Psychometric rigour

Item statistics, reliability, distractor analysis and IRT calibration support defensible pass marks and fair, comparable results across forms.

Governance and audit

Every sign-in, decision, release and certificate is recorded. Versioning preserves prior keys, rationales and reviewer decisions.
